A snowboard group can appear small on a passenger list while bringing a substantial load. Boards, bindings, boots and protective equipment create awkward shapes that a normal suitcase count does not describe. For an airport transfer to Davos, the useful starting point is a photograph and measurement of the closed bags, followed by a clear list of every traveller and the luggage travelling with them.

Measure the case as it will travel

Measure the full external length, width and height after packing, including wheels and handles. If bindings remain attached, do not use the dimensions of the empty board as your estimate. Soft cases can also become deep when clothing is packed around the equipment. Tell the booking team whether the bag contains one board or several, and whether its shape can change without putting pressure on fragile contents or damaging the case.

List small items that add up

A helmet bag, boot bag and cabin backpack may each look easy to carry, but together they can occupy the space expected for another suitcase. Give a complete item count for the group rather than one average bag allowance per person. Separate hard cases from soft bags in your description. Do not plan to place equipment loose in the passenger area or depend on an unconfirmed roof carrier to make an unsuitable vehicle work.

Give the board case a clear owner within the group, even when it contains several people’s equipment. That person can check its arrival and condition and answer loading questions. A shared case without a responsible traveller is easy to overlook during a busy handover.

Handle arrivals as one group

Nominate a person to check that every board case has been collected before the party leaves baggage reclaim. If equipment arrives separately from the suitcases, keep the transfer contact informed while you follow the airport’s instructions. Send a short update when the full group and load are ready. This is more useful than repeatedly changing an estimated meeting time while half the passengers wait outside and another person searches for a missing bag.

Avoid a rushed equipment detour

A request to stop at a shop for a binding adjustment or replacement item can change the journey. Arrange any planned shop visit with the transfer team and the shop before travel, including opening arrangements and the intended waiting time. An airport booking does not reserve a technician or secure a fitting slot. If the first afternoon is uncertain, going directly to the accommodation may be a simpler plan than committing the group to a tight schedule.

Recheck the load for the flight home

The return load can change after equipment purchases, rental returns or repacking. Confirm which board cases still travel to Zurich Airport and whether any party member leaves on a different flight. Zurich Airport advises that sports and bulky baggage may require airline-counter handling, so consult the airline about departure procedures. Send the final return pickup address and load to Airportcab early enough for the agreed vehicle arrangement to be checked again.
