An infant’s airport journey needs a more precise brief than a passenger total. The booking team should know that a baby is travelling, which restraint is required and how much additional equipment comes with the family. The parents should separately plan feeding, changing and any individual journey advice. This keeps the transfer request practical without asking a driver to make decisions that belong to the family or a healthcare professional.

Describe the restraint requirement accurately

Provide age, height and weight, and specify if a rear-facing infant restraint is requested. If you bring your own seat, identify its model and whether any base is travelling with it. The team needs to review the proposed installation and vehicle suitability before confirmation. Do not treat a vague “baby seat” note as a completed arrangement. For supplied child seats, Airportcab’s stated charge is CHF 15 per seat per booking.

Account for the equipment around the baby

A pram may comprise a frame, carrycot and accessories rather than a single folded piece. List those parts along with suitcases, cabin bags, travel cot and any other bulky item. Give packed dimensions for the largest components. The number of adults does not determine the required luggage space on its own. A category that suits two adults with ordinary bags may not suit the same adults travelling with a complete infant equipment set.

Where two adults travel, divide the handover roles clearly: one can remain responsible for the baby while the other checks the equipment and speaks with the driver. The arrangement should suit the family rather than leave both adults occupied with bags at the same moment.

Plan the parents’ essentials bag

Keep the items needed for feeding and changing accessible and packed in accordance with the airline’s requirements. Zurich Airport publishes information for passengers travelling with children; use the official guidance for the airport stage. The car booking does not automatically include consumables, specialist equipment or a particular feeding arrangement. Parents should decide what they need for the journey and obtain professional guidance for any individual medical or restraint-use questions.

Discuss interruptions realistically

If a break is likely to be needed, tell dispatch before confirming the itinerary. A suitable stop has to fit the actual route and conditions, so avoid assuming the driver can halt at any chosen point. Keep the rest of the day flexible, particularly if there is an onward appointment after reaching Davos. The transfer quotation should reflect agreed stops, while changes on the day should be discussed rather than silently added to the journey.

Prepare the door-to-door details

Check that the address identifies the correct entrance and that somebody can provide access at the likely arrival period. For an apartment, save the host’s instructions and contact details before the flight. At unloading, keep the baby’s essential bag with the responsible adult while the other luggage is counted. When arranging the return to Zurich Airport, confirm the restraint again and allow the family enough preparation time before the agreed car collection.

Questions about this journey

Can a rear-facing seat be requested?

Yes. State age, height, weight and the required arrangement for explicit confirmation.

Does a pram count as one bag?

Describe all separate parts and packed dimensions; a simple bag count may be misleading.

Are feeding supplies provided?

Do not assume this. Bring the supplies your family needs.
