Rebooked flight to Zurich: when to update your Davos transfer

After an airline rebooking, update the existing Davos transfer with the confirmed flight and local arrival date. Resolve the original booking before creating another.

A missed air connection can produce several possible itineraries before the airline settles on one. The ground transfer needs a confirmed arriving airport and service, not every speculative alternative. Keep the original booking reference and tell dispatch when your situation is unresolved. Once the new flight is issued, a complete update helps the team review the vehicle arrangement without treating it as a second journey.

Begin with the status, not an invented arrival time

Tell dispatch that the original connection was missed and that the airline has not yet confirmed a replacement, if that is the situation. Include the original flight number and transfer reference. This lets the team identify the affected pickup while you deal with the airline. A guessed arrival can be more disruptive than a clear statement that you are waiting for a confirmed itinerary.

Send the final incoming leg when rebooking is complete

Once the airline issues the new plan, send the airport, flight number, local arrival date and scheduled arrival time together. If the new service is at Basel, Geneva or another airport, emphasise that the airport has changed. A different airport is a different road movement and must be reviewed for availability and price; it is not merely a delay to the original Zurich pickup.

Review any passengers who are no longer travelling together

An airline may rebook members of one group onto separate services. Explain who is on each flight and whether you still want one shared car or separate transfers. Include the luggage and child-seat requirements for each resulting party. Waiting for the final arrival can work only if the other travellers accept that plan and the transfer team confirms an appropriate vehicle and waiting arrangement.

Keep the hotel informed without promising arrival

Notify your Davos accommodation that the journey is disrupted, then update it when the final incoming flight is known. Ask about room access if the revised timing is late. Avoid promising a precise hotel arrival while boarding, baggage or road timing remains uncertain. If you decide to stay overnight near the airport, tell dispatch explicitly that today’s transfer is no longer the plan.

Request a revised written confirmation

Check that the final confirmation contains the new flight, correct date, current passenger count and any agreed quotation change. Keep cancellation or amendment terms with that confirmation. Do not assume an airline refund or replacement ticket also changes a separate chauffeur reservation. After landing, contact the team with your actual progress so the rebooked journey ends in a clear airport handover rather than another round of uncertain messages.

If the rebooking involves an overnight stay, include the new local date explicitly. A message that says the same flight tomorrow can be read against the wrong day. The ground team needs the complete new itinerary even when the flight number happens to remain unchanged.

Questions about this journey

Can I switch from Zurich to Basel under the same booking?

Request the change. The team must assess the new airport route, vehicle availability and revised quotation before confirming it.

Should I submit a second booking form?

Prefer updating the existing reference first. A second request can appear to be an additional car unless you clearly identify it as a replacement.

Does the airline notify my chauffeur?

Do not rely on that. Send your confirmed revised itinerary directly to the transfer team.
